Friday snack attack: frozen banana pops

Beat the dog days of summer with a frozen, fun-to-make-with-the-kiddos treat! Banana Pops are an easy peasy summer snack. Frozen banana on a stick. A little healthier than the iced and creamed variety and so much more fun. Engage your little one in helping you dip and roll the bananas in the toppings of your choosing. Want something with a little less sugar than the chocolate in the Frozen Banana Pop Treats I found on Jamie Cooks it Up? Try rolling the frozen bananas in yogurt and topping with granola, crushed nuts or diced dried fruit. Fun measuring/sensory activity for the kids no matter how you coat it.

By the way, Jamie Cooks it Up is my blog obsession of the week. Her tag line? Family friendly recipes just waiting to put a smile on your face! LOVE it. Her blog is a collection of beautifully photographed, simple meal ideas. Just added it to my google reader and became a fan on facebook. Yum!
